Auburn’s new Auburn bookstore and bookshop will open to the general public on Wednesday, April 17, the Alabama Department of Agriculture said in a news release.
The new bookstore will be located in the old Auburn Towne Center, the new bookstore’s official website said.
The space will be open to visitors for book signings and signings of non-fiction books, as well as to local vendors, the website said in the news release, which was published Wednesday.
The newly-opened bookstore will offer online bookselling, as the old shop was.
“This new location will serve as the first Auburn bookstore to offer online sales of books,” the department said in its news release announcing the opening of the new Auburn bookshop.
“The store will also offer local vendors and local customers a more convenient and convenient shopping experience with more accessible checkout options, a digital shopping cart, a shopping cart for gift cards, and more.”
The department did not say how much the new bookshop would cost, but Auburn’s Department of Economic Development said it was $7,400.
The department said it will be available to purchase books for sale through the Auburn Booksellers Association’s online bookseller portal.
